Canyonlands National Park

When we got into Canyonlands we asked for a map and park guide, which we used to decide our hike for the day. We chose to hike the Syncline Loop Trail because it was the longest trail in our area of the park. The trail started with multiple warnings about the length and heat, including one which suggested not doing the trail in July/August especially. The hike took us around the Upheaval Crater by walking through a canyon that surrounded it. Getting down the canyon and back up required escalating boulder fields that were incredible steep. After our loop we decided to hike up to the overlook to see what we had just hiked around before heading out to find a place to camp for the night.
